  • Is Psychotherapy Covered by Benefits?

    Psychotherapy Services are often covered by extended health care benefits, however, this can vary plan to plan. It is best to check with your provider before beginning therapy.

  • What Can I Expect in a First Session?

    The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, your hopes, and whether we’re a good fit. I will ask thoughtful questions to get to know you and your story. You are encouraged to go at your own pace — there’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready.

  • Can you Direct Bill My Insurance?

    Yes! I can direct bill some plans through Telus Health or Provider Connect (GreenShield) 

  • How Often Do I Need to Attend Therapy?

    Therapy is flexible — some clients prefer weekly sessions, others biweekly. We’ll discuss what feels right for your needs, goals, capacity, and budget.

  • Do I need a Doctors Note or Referral?

    No referral is needed. You can reach out directly whenever you're ready to begin. Some benefit plans may require a doctors note to approve benefit coverage. It is important to double check with your specific plan before beginning.

  • How do I Schedule an Appointment?

  • Where do I Find You for My Appointment?

    When you enter the Family Health Options building- head up the stairs towards the Spa. Have a seat in the upper lobby and I will meet you there at your appointment time.

  • Where do I Park?

    There is plenty of street parking around the building and two public parking lots- one across from the public Library and the other a little further down on Curtis St. Please give yourself some time to find parking during peak hours.

  • Will You Send a Link for a Virtual Session?

    Yes, when you book an appointment, you'll be sent a welcome email with a link to create a profile with our online booking system, Jane. This is where all virtual appointments take place. The system will send a link 1 hour prior to your session. If you don't receive a link- send me an email and I will send the link manually.

  • I Already Have a Jane Account- Do I Need to Make Another?

    If this is your first appointment at Lauren Beattie Counselling, Yes! Many practitioners use Jane, however, your login is specific to each clinic. If this is not your first appointment at Lauren Beattie Counselling- you may just need to reset your password. If you have any trouble accessing your account please reach out.
